Job Overview

The Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) streamlines production processes, reduce costs, decrease errors, meet deadlines, and supervise employees. Assist in developing more cost-effective processes for reducing waste while increasing productivity and encourage employee satisfaction. Must be able to develop methods to utilize personnel and resources in the best possible way and determine when additional staff or equipment is needed or eliminated. 2nd Shift works Monday - Friday 4:30pm - 3 am.

A Day In The Life

Duties / Responsibilities:



  • Supervise employees in department: including employment, training, discipline, safety, quality, productivity, and performance.
  • Participate in projects, such as design, purchase and installation of production equipment, production improvement efforts, scrap reduction projects etc.
  • Implement procedures and adjust as necessary to produce products within specifications.
  • Monitors quality of incoming raw materials and finished products.
  • Recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Logging and reporting production process to manager
  • Updating and verifying training records on employees
  • Reviewing and authorizing employee's hours, time off, and adjusting their work schedule to meet the production needs.
  • Assist with budgets.
  • Participate and have an active role in safety committee practices.
  • Ensure that work practices are within the guidelines of OSHA standards.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Previous experience leading people or teams of 20+
  • Planning: Ability to plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Supervisor, including employee hiring and retention, performance review and discipline.
  • Monitor and maintain attendance records and in E-time.
  • Preferred experience in inventory management and production recording in SAP
  • Read, use, and understanding of measuring devices.
  • Proper use of multiple hand / power tools
  • Ability to stand for extensive periods of time.
  • Must be able to work independently and foster teamwork with others.
  • Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5-10 years Supervising employees required.
  • 5-10 years minimum experience working in manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and technical knowledge
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Internal job specific training
