Responsibilities

Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS, is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful central Jacksonville, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. Our progressive team members in the fields of psychiatry, medicine, nursing, social services, education and activity therapy are all committed to provide compassionate, comprehensive care that uniquely fits the intensity and severity of each patient's needs. We offer a continuum of mental health and addiction services through an integrated system of inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ECT programs. Our overall goal is to provide the highest quality treatment possible for drug abuse and mental health issues in order to help our patients achieve good health and long-term sobriety. Fort Lauderdale BH is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Director of Plant Operations

The Director of Plant Operations/Safety Officer is responsible for managing and organizing the operations of the facility including maintenance and grounds keeping while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes, standards of government and regulatory agencies. This position also serves as the facility's Safety Officer and serves on the Safety/Risk Committee.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • Degree in facility management, equivalent in trade school degree, or related field preferred; or equivalent in related experience
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent

Experience:

  • A minimum five (5) years related experience with at least one year of management experience in Environmental Care/Services. Spanish speaking skills preferred.
  • Must have experince with reading blueprints and understand Life Safety Code and OSHA Regulations.
  • Must have an understanding of Ohm's Law and refrigeration theory.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current Florida Driver's License (may be required to drive company van on occasion)
  • CRT Certificate

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of state and govrnment agency procedures and policies
  • Ability to organize materials as well as priorities of tasks at hand.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment (Air Conditioner, Generators, Sprinklers, Fire Pump, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to work in a loud busy environment
  • Ability to multi task
  • Ability to meet Corporate and Federal Guidelines and deadlines.
  • Must be available 24 hours per day
  • Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practices
