The Product Performance Analyst specializes in driving the strategic direction and enhancement of product offerings through detailed analysis of product performance, customer segmentation, and historical trends. This role demands a sophisticated understanding of actuarial principles and superior analytical skills, positioning it as key to identifying growth opportunities and implementing data-driven product improvements. This role is distinctively focused compared to that of the Market Research Analyst, who examines broader market trends and the competitive landscape. SKILLS

Reporting directly to the Manager, Product Intelligence and Strategy, the Product Performance Analyst is tasked with leading comprehensive analyses that significantly influence product development and positioning. This role is marked by a demand for a higher level of expertise and responsibility, with a focus on utilizing complex data to drive strategic decisions. You will demonstrate an exceptional ability to sift through intricate product data, providing insights that are not only actionable but also transformative, thus making a direct contribution to the product's market success. Characterized by a profound understanding of actuarial principles and a sharp analytical mindset, you are committed to meticulously examining specific product metrics, which aids in facilitating enhancements and promoting growth.

At the heart of your responsibilities, you will engage deeply with product analytics, aiming to evaluate performance, segment customers, and leverage historical insights for the evolution of the product and strategic planning. Your expertise will span depth over breadth, focusing on the finer details of product data to identify levers of growth and support decision-making processes. You embody a unique combination of analytical prowess and product intuition and will work closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to translate complex datasets into coherent, actionable strategies. This fusion of skills positions you as both a key contributor and an analytical thinker within the product development ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Performance Evaluation: Analyze product performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement, contributing to the overall strategy for product evolution.

  • Customer Segmentation Analysis: Develop and refine customer segmentation models to better understand customer behavior and preferences, enabling personalized product strategies, facilitating targeted product enhancements.

  • Historical Data Analysis: Examine historical performance data and market trends to anticipate future product needs, gaps, and opportunities for innovation. Lead comprehensive analyses on product performance, utilizing advanced statistical and actuarial methods to uncover trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven insights are effectively integrated into product development and decision-making processes. Collaborate with senior leadership to align product strategy with analytical insights, influencing key decisions on product development and enhancements.

  • Reporting and Insights: Develop comprehensive reports and presentations that communicate key findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Design and implement sophisticated analytical frameworks and dashboards for ongoing monitoring of product metrics, ensuring they meet business objectives and customer needs.

  • Communicate complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.

  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements: Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in product analysis, preferably within a healthcare or related industry.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python) and statistical techniques that includes experience with forecasting and predictive analysis.

  • Strong understanding of actuarial principles and their application to product performance evaluation.

  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Experience with customer segmentation and analysis of historical data trends.

  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with Product Owners and cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high diligence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience in the health benefits industry or a related field.

  • Experience with medical claims analysis and reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply actuarial principles in a product analysis context.

  • Familiarity with product management methodologies and frameworks.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proven history of translating insights into actionable product improvements.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.

    Work-at-home requirements

    • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
    • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
    • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
    • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
    • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

    Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

    The annual base salary range for this position is $72,542 - $102,258 USD.
