Job Overview

Komatsu Mining is looking for a Supply Intern at the Global Distribution Center in Charleroi, PA. The intern will be responsible for supporting members of the Supply Chain Team, including distribution/inventory managers and logistics personnel.The Global Distribution Team is responsible for shipping Komatsu parts for underground mining equipment used Worldwide.

This role will provide exposure to Supply Chain activities such as:



  • Standard Operating Procedure Development
  • Employee Training on New Processes
  • Strategic Sourcing
  • Supply Chain Data Analysis
  • Cost Saving Strategies

Key Job Responsibilities

Project Examples include:

* Learn about and put into practice Lean projects and processes.

* Implement supply planning process improvements.

*Assist in tracking global inventory and research ways to forecast accurately.

* Communicate effectively with customers and teammates (phone, in-person, e-mail).

*Analyze workflow, create & analyze reports, suggest ways to streamline the process.

* Prepare reports detailing lot sizes, tracking and promise dates.

*Assist in implementing improvements and Analyze various types of data/ recommend cost saving opportunities.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications

1. Education: Must be at least in Sophomore standing at an accredited college/university. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.70+ and be able to apply their academic background to real business world experiences.

2. Experience: Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred.

3. Soft Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.

4. PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel, Power Point and other summary and analysis tools. Must demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.

5. Travel: Some travel may be required to other local Komatsu locations.
