The duties and responsibilities of the Catering Dishwasher include:
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines
- Properly mix chemicals to ensure correct washing and sanitizing of items
- Store and label cleaning supplies appropriately
- Maintain equipment and report equipment malfunctions or damage
- Organize, stock, and clean the kitchen area
- Assist with the maintenance of Grandveiw Ballroom as needed
- Empty trash and recycling
- Follow all applicable health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Stock food products into dry storage and refrigerators/freezers, along with frying oil
- Provide team player attitude and approach to all situations
- Initiative to work beyond what is requested within the unit to achieve business goals of quality and service standards.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
- Demonstrated ability to be successful in the role through 1 year of experience working in a commercial kitchen or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Basic math skills and ability to scale calculations for the mixing of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Ability to interact effectively with coworkers of all ages, backgrounds, and interests.
- Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment without loss of efficiency or effectiveness.
- Ability and flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed

Physical Demands of Position |
Capable of moving quickly and efficiently under sometimes very warm temperatures. Lifting and moving of items over 50 pounds. Stooping and bending to retrieve items from ovens, shelves, etc. Scrubbing, cleaning, sweeping and moping of all equipment daily. Must be prepared to stand for the entire 8-hour shift.

Required Functional Competencies to Successfully Perform Job Duties. |
Knowledge-Technical:
- Checks production schedules and manages time accordingly.
- Set up, starts, operates, observes temperature, maintains detergent levels, and closes down and cleans the dish machine.
- Moves with speed to accomplish dish washing tasks.
- Performs minor repairs and maintenance to dish machine.
- Operates disposal and conveyor systems.
- Checks for proper cleaning procedures within assigned area.
- Follows all health and safety rules and regulations.
Safety and Health Compliance:
- Selects and stores food to prevent spoilage.
- Identifies and appropriately operates all kitchen equipment and machinery such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers.
- Follows state and University polices.
- Is knowledgeable of proper food handling and disposal techniques.
Customer Service:
- Anticipates customer needs. Addresses and resolves promptly and respectfully.
