Location Site: West Valley Hospital Department: WVH Diagnostic Imaging Position Type: Full Time Schedule: Thur-Sat 0630-1900 no call for this position except for holidays. Your Role With Us: As an Ultrasound Technologist with West Valley Hospital, you will be responsible for using appropriate techniques to perform ultrasound examinations while delivering top-notch patient care. Exceptional communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must in this role to provide complete and accurate diagnostic information. You will be tasked with using your knowledge to tailor exams to meet the specific needs of pediatric, adolescent and/or geriatric patients while obtaining quality exams.Core Functions:Perform procedures in compliance with department's technical procedure manual or deviations requested by attending radiologist.Correlate sonographic findings with clinical findings and results of previous imaging exams.Analyze examination for completeness and gathers additional information beyond that called for by standard protocols when necessary.Document findings and results in an orderly and thorough manner with proper annotation and patient identification.Provide pertinent communication to the patient, significant others, and health care providers.Use discretion when asking questions of the patient (or patient's family), or when making statements regarding the examination.Assist physician as needed with proper supplies and equipment during procedures.Utilizes imaging equipment to assist radiologist with guidance and localizationUses the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS), and the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) in an efficient manner.Assists in training of other department employees and students as needed.Correlates sonographic findings with clinical findings and results of previous imaging exams.Evaluates patient needs and acoustic characteristics; selects, maintains and adjusts equipment to provide optimal sonographic evaluation Total Rewards Offerings:Salem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations and professional growth.Relocation assistance available for qualified candidatesFull comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansBasic and voluntary life insuranceShort and long-term disabilityLive Well Wellness ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)401(K) retirement plan with employer contributions.Generous paid time off (PTO) accrual and holiday payOnsite fitness center with 24/7 badge accessEducation assistance programPublic service loan forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer https://studentaid.gov/Food and drink discounts in the cafeteria.Impressive discounts offered by Nike, Adidas, Carhartt and others.Background/Expertise:Must be a graduate of an approved program in ultrasound technology and/or be ultrasound registered or eligible for registration in abdomen and OB/GYN or have a temporary OBMI Sonography license. If not registered at hire date, must complete and pass board registries in abdomen, OB/GYN and physics one (1) year from hire date. Failure to meet this requirement could jeopardize employment. Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Sonography is required.Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Ultrasound Tech preferred.BLS from the AHA required within 90 days of hire.Registered RVT preferred.Must have an active Sonography license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI). License can either be permanent or temporary. Must be registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in both Abdomen and OB/GYN within 1 year of hire date.
