Job Summary

The Laundry and Linen Distribution Manager leads the hospital's laundry & linen program on-site to insure an adequate supply of clean linen for all areas while interacting with both the processing plant and hospital personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assigning duties to linen distribution staff.
  • Housekeeping and general cleanliness of the linen room and associated work areas.
  • Inspecting laundered items to assure compliance with OSHA and JCAHO recommendations and requirements.
  • Maintaining records for department attendance, production efficiencies and linen tracking.
  • Contacting the appropriate hospital departments to obtain feedback and information regarding linen services.
  • Participating in the central linen standardization committee as necessary.
  • Interviewing candidates and coordinating orientation and training for new associates.
  • Reporting overuse or misuse of linens and recommended actions to management and hospital personnel as necessary.
  • Filling in for distribution staff when necessary to meet facility needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience preferred
  • At least one year of experience in laundry/linen or service-related field with high customer/client contact required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing and stressful environment
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
  • Willingness to work a 10 hour day on a regular basis
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
