The Green Music Center (GMC) is a division of Sonoma State. The mission of the GMC is to present the most compelling artists of our time, to investigate ideas, and to provide access to diverse artistic experiences that educate, connect, and inspire Sonoma State University and neighboring North Bay communities. Reporting to the and under the supervision of the Front of House Manager, the Assistant Front of House Manager provides management and guidance for Green Music Center events ensuring an efficient and enjoyable crowd management environment and audience while ensuring the safety of the public at all times, and supervises staff consisting of student and volunteer personnel. The incumbent is responsible for working closely with the Front of House Manager, Sonoma State and Green Music Center staff, box office, student ushers, ticket takers, coat room attendants, and production personnel to ensure the highest quality house operations while upholding a world-class level of customer service. Key Qualifications This position requires a minimum of two years of experience in front of house management in a performance venue, including one to two years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree in the arts, humanities, business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Experience and understanding of the procedures and practices of performing arts management within higher education highly preferred. Experience with the operations of a wide range of performing arts events is required. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Suite required. A working knowledge of all aspects of personnel management, budgeting, scheduling, technical production in performing arts disciplines, and at multiple stages of the theatrical creative process, in a range of venues, from large-scale to black box is highly preferred. Salary and Benefits Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and will not exceed $4,334 a month. This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
