YOU As the New Tooling Shop Supervisor, you will oversee the Tool and Die shop consisting of Tool Makers, Apprentices, Machinists, Helpers and a Lead. This department supports Branch and Product development teams with the creation of dies for existing and new product lines as well as other support functions as needed. The Supervisor is responsible for the planning and execution of short to long term objectives, maintaining existing standards, and working on continuous improvements in Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time) Supervise, motivate, and direct team using effective performance management techniques, including establishing goals, providing recognition, and feedback and addressing performance issues. Coach, encourage and develop employees according to their abilities. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. (40%) Develop and execute plans to improve internal processes to achieve targeted department metrics. (25%) Manage materials and services required to support the department by working with internal and external sources. Partner with the manager and design team to coordinate die build project and available resources. (25%) Perform various support function tasks required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting, and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Travel This position requires domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time. Work Status & Location This full-time, exempt position is in Stockton, CA. Relocation Relocation is not available for this position.
