POSITION/JOB TITLE: Process Technology Engineer DEPARTMENT: Technology DIRECT SUPERVISOR: VP of Technology TRAVEL Extensive Travel: Up to 75% POSITION SUMMARY: SunCoke Energy is renowned worldwide as the leader in heat recovery coke making technology. Currently, we are undertaking initiatives to develop and implement new technologies and new products in order to enter new markets. The technology department is responsible for pioneering and commercializing new technology for future plants while continually seeking ways to enhance performance at existing operating plants. As a process technology engineer, your role will involve several key responsibilities. These include conducting basic research, overseeing test programs in the field and with vendors, and conducting customer trials. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the technology program, create test plans, execute those plans, analyze the results, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide recommendations to Senior Management. You will also actively participate as a team leader on multi-disciplinary teams dedicated to new technology development and implementation. Furthermore, as a process technology engineer, you will provide support to foundry coke making efforts by offering customer technical support, troubleshooting process issues, and optimizing operations as required. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of SunCoke Energy's technological advancements and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, likes the challenge of developing and executing innovative ideas, likes working within multiple teams, and enjoys working in a plant environment. Ideally the candidate will work out of the SunCoke headquarters in Lisle, IL.
