Position overview

Travere is seeking a Senior Director, Commercial Analytics and Decision Science to build and lead a centralized commercial analytics capability that turns complex data into clear business decisions. This leader will shape how we measure performance, identify growth opportunities, evaluate commercial investments, and prepare for future launches across our growing rare disease portfolio.

The role will integrate patient, prescriber, account, access, promotional, and performance analytics; establish an advanced analytics roadmap; and lead a small, growing team. The Senior Director will report to the Vice President, Commercial Insights and Operations and partner closely with Forecasting, Market Insights, Field Operations and Excellence, Commercial Systems and Data, Sales, Marketing, Patient Access, and Finance.

The successful candidate will combine analytical depth with strong commercial judgment and a practical, hands-on leadership style. This individual should be comfortable with constructively challenging unclear requests, focusing teams on the decisions that matter most, and building scalable capabilities while continuing to meet near-term business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial analytics and decision science strategy for current brands, new indications, and future assets.
  • Create an integrated view of commercial performance across demand generation, pull-through, patient identification, referrals, starts, access, conversion, persistence, prescriber behavior, accounts, promotion, and field execution.
  • Lead analyses that explain performance drivers, quantify opportunities and risks, and translate findings into clear recommendations for commercial and executive leaders.
  • Guide analytical support for business reviews, launch planning, annual planning, customer strategy, and post-launch performance evaluation.
  • Build a practical advanced analytics roadmap spanning customer segmentation, patient journey analytics, promotional response, predictive modeling, next best action, and resource optimization.
  • Establish a common intake and prioritization process that focuses analytics resources on the highest-value business questions and reduces duplicative or low-value work.
  • Set standards for key performance indicators, analytical methods, business definitions, documentation, and quality, while simplifying recurring reports and dashboards.
  • Partner with Forecasting, Market Insights, Field Operations and Excellence, and Commercial Systems and Data to connect insights, forecasts, field decisions, and data capabilities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial Analytics team and manage external analytics partners and investments.
  • Communicate complex findings in a clear, compelling manner that supports timely decisions and action.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in analytics, statistics, data science, economics, business, life sciences, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial analytics, decision science, data science, business insights, or a related function, including people leadership.

Additional Skills/Experience/Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience across several commercial analytics areas, such as brand performance, patient journeys, customer segmentation, promotional response, access, launch analytics, or field effectiveness.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial data, including claims, specialty pharmacy, hub or patient services, CRM and field activity, payer and access, laboratory, digital, and promotional data.
  • Experience applying advanced analytical methods and translating technical work into practical business recommendations.
  • Experience supporting product launches and scaling analytics capabilities in a growing organization; rare disease, specialty, or nephrology experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing needs, lead teams and partners, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and maintain analytical quality in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, executive presence, intellectual curiosity, and sound commercial judgment.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • The ability to perform face to face work with customers, colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is 100% remote.
