Start your career in construction safety. Ready to turn what you've learned in school into hands-on experience? As a Safety Technician with Interstates' National Traveling Construction Team, you'll help protect people on construction sites across the country while learning from experienced Safety Managers and Safety Directors. You'll support field teams through safety inspections, hazard identification, training, and accident-prevention efforts. Along the way, you'll build practical skills, travel to a variety of projects, and establish a foundation for a long-term career in construction safety. A great opportunity for May graduates This entry-level, full-time role is designed for students graduating in May and recent graduates who are ready to begin work after graduation. You must be available for full-time employment and 100% domestic travel after graduation. Previous professional safety experience isn't required. Interested in safety, construction, engineering, or a related field Curious about how safety practices work in real-world job-site environments Comfortable communicating with people at all levels Organized, detail-oriented, and ready to take initiative Eager to learn, ask questions, and solve problems Excited to travel and work in changing environments Interested in growing your career in construction safety What you'll do Support Safety Directors and Safety Managers in promoting a proactive safety culture on construction sites Conduct job-site safety audits and help identify and address potential hazards Help ensure required safety equipment and supplies are available Support weekly inspections, documentation, reporting, and follow-up Assist with accident, injury, and near-miss investigations Participate in root-cause analyses and help identify ways to prevent future incidents Help coordinate safety training, communications, and educational materials Support first-aid readiness and assist with training or response as qualified and assigned Attend crew, foreman, and team safety meetings Assist with project start-ups and plant shutdowns Build positive relationships with customers, field leaders, safety professionals, and coworkers What you'll bring Required qualifications Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in safety, safety engineering, construction management, engineering, or a related field; or one to two years of related safety or construction experience and/or training Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to track information, complete audits, and maintain accurate records Sound judgment and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Ability to build trust and get results without relying on direct authority Willingness and ability to travel 100% throughout the United States Preferred qualifications Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in safety, construction, engineering, or a related field Construction-site or industrial experience Familiarity with safety inspections, incident reporting, or hazard identification First-aid or CPR certification Why Interstates?
