Check out all the ways we shareon the Spectrum News Mobile App. BE PART OF THE CONNECTION As the Chief Photojournalist, you will overseethe photojournalism department. You will lead a team of photojournalists while operating ENG/SNG news gathering equipment. You will need to know how to developnews photographs for video. Your photographers will be prepared and sent out on assignments. You will establishproduction, technical, and photojournalistic quality standards. You must ensure standards are met and provide editorial comments to photojournalists. You'll make data-informed decisions about what's resonating to connect our audience with the stories that matter. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS Required Qualifications Experience: Shooting and editing television news footage experience - 8+ years, microwave truck experience Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, related field or comparable television work experience Technical skills: Must know how to edit news video Skills: Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly communicate solutions; ability to relate well with populations and age groups Abilities: Ability to interface with internal company personnel, requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community, must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license for authorized driving in the State of residence Schedule: Ability to work various shifts, longer shifts, weekends and holidays, and be flexible with schedule changes due to "breaking news", and/or severe weather emergencies Preferred Qualifications DSNG experience Working Conditions Works inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions Must be willing to work in severe weather emergencies, such as hurricanes Drive company vehicle to and from different locations in a safe manner by obeying all traffic laws #LI-AW3 NPH500 2026-82939 NPH500 2026 Here, our employees don't just have jobs, they're building careers. A qualified applicant's criminal history, if any, will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws, including local ordinances. The base pay for this position generally is between $78,900.00 and $139,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
