Mechanical Design Engineer

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Equivalent experience in mechanical design and industrial equipment development may be considered.
• Training in machine design, manufacturing processes, or electromechanical systems is a plus.

Experience Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment, or custom-engineered systems.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting software; SolidWorks or Creo experience preferred.
• Experience creating manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, sub-assemblies, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Background designing, testing, and improving mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial automation, machine design, and custom equipment development.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, actuators, and other motion control systems.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to work in manufacturing, engineering, and production environments.
• Capable of inspecting equipment, reviewing drawings, and supporting shop-floor activities.
• Ability to travel throughout manufacturing and assembly areas as needed.
• Must be able to perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, walking, and computer-based work for extended periods.

Job Duties

• Design and develop mechanical systems, machine components, and custom industrial equipment.
• Create 3D models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and BOMs for manufacturing and procurement.
• Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and design reviews to ensure product performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, service, and supplier teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Troubleshoot design and performance issues while supporting equipment assembly, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Develop technical documentation, including installation, operation, maintenance, and assembly procedures.
• Provide technical support to field service, customer support, and spare parts teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, product enhancements, and new technology evaluations.
