Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). To be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. Must be currently employed by either HVCC or EOC.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or higher education administration from an accredited institution, and at least three years of professional experience working at a community college. Demonstrated commitment to student success, equity and inclusion. Evidence of innovative and strategic leadership, sound professional judgment, and the ability to develop and implement programs responsive to evolving student needs. Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners. Demonstrated effectiveness in the application of career development theory and college transfer focused on supporting diverse, under-represented populations, development of relationships with public and private sector employers and four-year universities and colleges. At least one year of staff and student supervision and experience with related program development.

Pertinent Other: Occasional evening and weekend hours are required to support student programming, outreach initiatives, and college events.

Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Director reports to the Dean of Student Development and performs the following duties:

1. Develops and executes a strategic vision for the Center for Careers and Transfer that aligns with the College's mission, goals, and strategic priorities; leverages evidence-based practices and emerging trends in higher education, student development, and careers and transfer.
2. Ensure career and transfer services are accessible and responsive to students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation, adult, low-income, veteran, students with disabilities and historically underserved students.
3. Provides administrative oversight of office staff, operational policies and processes, budgeting, and assessment.
4. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the goals of the department and the mission of the college.
5. Integrate career readiness and career exploration into the student experience in collaboration with academic and student affairs departments.
6. Develop student development and career and transfer education workshops, seminars, fairs, recruiting events, networking opportunities, and other student development and career and transfer related programming.
7. Advise and assist students individually and in groups with self-assessment, career and transfer exploration, planning, and decision-making.
8. Partner with academic departments, faculty, and campus offices to offer student development, career and transfer programming classroom and programming presentations.
9. Work collaboratively with HR, Financial Aid, campus offices and students to enhance and facilitate student employment by focusing on career readiness skills and workforce competencies and EEO compliance.
10. Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of programming and resources through the lens of continuous quality improvement and making data-informed decisions.
11. Oversee on-campus recruiting and events for employers and four-year colleges and universities, coordinating with academic departments as necessary.
12. Works collaboratively with IR and academic programs on the administration of the graduate follow-up survey.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $75,000-$85,000.
