Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., has an opening for a Part-Time Code Enforcement Officer in Monterey, CA.The Code Enforcement Officer will work part-time during evening and weekend hours to monitor and address vendor-related activities.
This position is an excellent opportunity for a retired or former law-enforcement professional whose experience in public contact, de-escalation, investigations, documentation, and regulatory enforcement provides a strong foundation for code enforcement work. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with City staff to ensure vendors obtain required permits and comply with applicable municipal codes, operating requirements, and health and safety regulations.
- Emphasize education and voluntary compliance by explaining requirements, providing information and resources, and assisting vendors in correcting violations.
- Document violations, issue notices or citations as authorized by the City, maintain accurate case records, and coordinate with appropriate City departments and partner agencies.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Certified Code Enforcement Officer, current or prior law enforcement, or PC 832 certification.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written).
- Bilingual Spanish.
