Environmental Technician II We are seeking a qualified individual to work closely with the Environmental Division of the Directorate of Public Works at the Fort Bliss Army Installation in El Paso, TX to support the Environmental Compliance Branch. The individual selected could support any of the following programs: Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures or Petroleum Storage Tanks Program support as outlined below. The Fort Bliss Army Installation is an active training facility located in the extreme western part of the State of Texas adjacent to the city of El Paso and the south-central area of the State of New Mexico. The Installation occupies approximately 1.2 million acres covering two states and three counties. Our client, the Environmental Division of its Directorate of Public Works is responsible for the oversight of the installation's natural and cultural resources ensuring compliance with environmental policy, programs, and legislation, managing the Region Environmental Program in support of the Army's environmental strategy for pollution prevention, compliance, restoration, and conservation. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Environmental Technician II: $50,000 - $60,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Environmental Technician II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: Must have a working knowledge of Steel Tank Institute S001.: The candidate shall also have a working knowledge of American Petroleum Institute 653 and National Fire Protection Association 30 for all three courses pertaining to POL storage. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and maintain 8-Hour refreshers. Must maintain a Texas and New Mexico Class A and B Operator certification. Must be capable of lifting more than 25 pounds or provide suitable equipment to lift or open 25-lb metal lids Have the physical stamina needed to climb ladders and steps above six feet, lift and use hand tools, and work in extreme desert conditions during the summer and winter months. A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field is preferred.
