DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position serves as the primary timekeeper for the Chester County Maintenance Office and supports employees by reviewing payroll information, resolving issues, and maintaining current and accurate records. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Timekeeping Support: Manage payroll entries, research time issues, and resolve payroll concerns for employees and supervisors
- Record Review: Verify leave balances, check payroll outputs, and ensure requests and documentation are complete and accurate
- Policy Guidance: Explain pay and leave rules, union contract requirements, work schedules, and related policies to staff
- Error Resolution: Investigate discrepancies, review payroll histories, and determine practical solutions to correct issues
- System Navigation: Use SAP and related systems to monitor activity, process entries, and determine correct coding for transactions
- Administrative Tasks: Prepare reports, process Personnel Action Requests (PARs), manage Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entries, file documents, and assist with front office needs

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
