There are currently two (2) openings for the Operations & Maintenance Technician I - Coater located at Gene Camp (Parker Dam, CA). This recruitment may result in an eligibility list.* This role develops foundational expertise in industrial surface preparation and protective coating applications. The position actively supports the maintenance of Metropolitan assets, equipment, and facilities. Key duties include assisting with substrate preparation and applying protective coatings to critical water utility infrastructure-such as valves, pipelines, feeders, and gates-to mitigate corrosion and wear. The technician works across a variety of materials, including metals, concrete, wood, polymers, and contemporary composites. By ensuring high-quality, advanced coating execution within treatment plants, conveyance facilities, and maintenance shops, this role directly supports the operational core of water and power reliability. What You'll Do
Assists with preparing and applying coating applications to protect a wide variety of water utility systems, assets, equipment and appurtenances including valves, pipelines, feeders, gates, substructures and related water delivery assets prone to corrosion and wear.
