Summary of Job Duties:The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Education Manager oversees the educational efforts of the UAMS Regional Centers s GME office and directs the development of the continued growth and knowledge of GME program directors and program coordinators related to GME, faculty development, and faculty and resident/fellow scholarly activity. The GME Education Manager is a member of the Regional Centers GME Office's leadership team and as such has a unique knowledge of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Institutional and program-specific requirements, policies and procedures. The GME Education Manager serves as a liaison between the GME office and its stakeholders.

We are looking for a strategic, results-oriented education leader with demonstrated success in program coordination, curriculum development, and faculty development within GME. The ideal candidate thrives in a multi-site setting, fosters collaboration across departments, and actively promotes resident scholarly activity, research training, and faculty development. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in higher education, healthcare administration, public administration, or related field.
  • Six (6) years of program coordination/management/administration experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Two (2) or more years of GME-specific coordination/management experience.
  • Certifications or professional involvement in TAGME (Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education) or related bodies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience developing/implementing curriculum; strong presentation and academic communication skills.
  • Higher education experience with faculty development; familiarity with research methods (qualitative/quantitative) and scholarly activity.
  • Proficiency with academic posters/presentations and experience in health care education research.

Additional Information:

What you will do:

Strategy and Oversight

  • Lead education strategy for GME across Regional Centers with a focus on Northwest Arkansas and other key regions to ensure ongoing compliance with ACGME accreditation.
  • Partner with the DIO and regional program directors to align curriculum, scholarly activity, and faculty development with organizational goals and accreditation standards.

Research Education and Training

  • Co-develop and co-teach curricula on research fundamentals and ethics for residents across Regional Centers.
  • Identify and train a research/scholarly champion at each program to mentor residents in scholarly work.
  • Coordinate internal and external research committees and events (e.g., Resident Research Day) and ensure compliant training completion.

Scholarly Activity Facilitation

  • Train program staff, residents, and faculty to capture and track scholarly activity in New Innovations or equivalent systems, ensuring adherence to ACGME requirements.
  • Build partnerships with UAMS departments and external entities to integrate resident and faculty research into ongoing projects.
  • Connect learners with resources to support quality improvement, publications, posters, grants, and studies.

Faculty and Program Leadership Development

  • Create and maintain a repository of internal/external faculty development resources.
  • Link community-based adjunct faculty with UAMS mentors and the Center for Faculty Excellence; manage onboarding and appointments.
  • Standardize onboarding for new adjunct faculty and core faculty development; oversee Workday-related onboarding and contract management.
  • Develop a standardized onboarding/training process for new Program Directors and Coordinators; contribute to an Enterprise-wide leadership development forum (E.A.S.E. program).

GME Liaison and Program Support

  • Analyze ACGME survey data to identify training needs; design statewide professional development plans.
  • Deliver regular trainings on topics identified by ACGME and the GME community; contribute to ACGME annual reports.
  • Support growth of new and existing residency programs through targeted training, outreach, and collaboration.
  • Build and sustain relationships with internal and external GME stakeholders; coordinate GME events (orientation, wellness week) and promote UAMS residency programs to medical students.
