Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Product Owner - Digital Services to lead the development and enhancement of customer-facing digital products, including web, mobile, and self-service platforms. This role is responsible for defining product vision, prioritizing features, managing Agile backlogs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences. The ideal candidate has experience working on Agile software development teams, partnering with UX and engineering teams, and driving digital transformation initiatives that improve customer engagement and adoption.

Job Responsibilities



  • Own the product backlog and prioritize features based on business value, customer needs, and organizational goals.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements to create epics, features, and user stories.
  • Translate business requirements into customer-centric digital experiences.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Manage product development activities using Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Monitor sprint progress, team velocity, risks, and dependencies while communicating project status to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, software developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support website redesigns, mobile application enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, project plans, and release schedules.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing, develop test plans, and validate completed functionality.
  • Conduct research and analysis on customer behavior, digital trends, and industry best practices to improve the customer experience.
  • Drive digital adoption initiatives by enhancing online customer journeys and self-service capabilities.
  • Support governance, intake processes, and continuous improvement initiatives across digital programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Product Owner or Product Management experience supporting Agile software development teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management, sprint planning, and Agile project tracking.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing digital products, including websites, mobile applications, customer portals, or digital self-service platforms.
  • Strong experience writing epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience leading Agile ceremonies and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum principles.
  • Experience working closely with UX teams to develop intuitive digital experiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives while balancing changing business priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience with customer journey mapping and digital customer experience initiatives preferred.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and compliance preferred.
  • Experience with vendor management preferred.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation or website redesign initiatives preferred.
  • Utility industry experience is not required; candidates from financial services, banking, insurance, technology, gaming, retail, e-commerce, telecommunications, or other digital-first organizations are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid driver's license required for future permanent employment eligibility.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Product Owner or Product Management experience required.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing digital products, websites, mobile applications, online portals, or digital self-service platforms required.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) in an Agile development environment required.
