Overview This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions. Responsibilities Position Responsibilities: Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines Develop and lead strategies to improve on-time delivery, cost efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity through continuous improvement initiatives. Determine future staffing needs, develop team capabilities, and conduct performance reviews for subordinates. Collaborate with various support functions on new or changing statements of work and communicate effectively with internal customers to expedite the fabrication of details and assemblies. Apply process management and improvement techniques, using problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and efficient solutions to fabrication challenges. Facilitate work teams, provide training, and interface with internal organizations and external customers for project planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Customer teams to resolve issues and improve performance Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence Qualifications Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Aviation, or Machining, including a manufacturing environment 5+ years of leadership or management experience Prior experience working with cross-functional groups Flexibility to work on 2nd, 3rd, or alternative work week shifts Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or business-related field Experience leading projects while managing schedules, budgets, and operational objectives Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite Experience working within a unionized manufacturing environment and managing collective bargaining agreements Drug Free Workplace: We are a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary Pay Range: $71,150 - $109,100 Kansas Tax Credit: Join Spirit AeroSystems' Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
