The Difference You'll Make Bring your passion for food and service to a meaningful, part-time Cook role where you'll make a real difference in residents' daily lives. Working a consistent schedule of every other weekend in 10-hour shifts, you'll create high-quality, nutritious meals that are as comforting as they are carefully tailored to individual needs. As a Cook, you'll help deliver diverse menus while fostering a warm, hospitality-focused dining experience, ensuring every meal is safe, satisfying, and prepared with care-all while collaborating with a supportive team in a positive, well-run kitchen environment. -Prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals in accordance with approved menus, dietary guidelines, and resident preferences -Ensure all food preparation meets established federal, state, and local food safety regulations and best practices -Prepare hot and cold meals, baked goods, and special event meals with attention to quality, presentation, and timeliness -Follow dietary cards, production sheets, and modified diet requirements accurately (mechanical, pureed, low-sodium, diabetic, allergy accommodations, etc.) -Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment, including equipment cleaning and proper food storage -Support special events and campus dining initiatives -Work collaboratively with dietary, nursing, and support teams to enhance the resident dining experience -Promote a positive, professional, and hospitality-focused atmosphere in the kitchen Minimum Qualifications -Minimum one year of cooking experience -Current ServSafe certification -Ability to read and follow menus, dietary cards, and production sheets accurately -Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices -Knowledge of menu development and dietary accommodations, including allergies and modified diets -Ability to manage kitchen responsibilities independently or work efficiently within a small team -Demonstrated ability to consistently prepare high-quality meals while meeting production deadlines -Flexibility to adjust menus based on ingredient availability and resident needs -Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace -Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing -Ability to delegate tasks appropriately and maintain a positive team dynamic -Willingness to work flexible hours based on operational needs Preferred -Vocational training in quantity food preparation -At least one year of quantity food production experience in a healthcare or senior living setting Rewards That Support You -Competitive pay with credit for experience -Medical, Dental, Vision (60+ hrs. per pay period) -HSA / FSA options -Employer-paid Life Insurance (60+ hrs. per pay period) -PTO -403(b) with employer match -Tuition discounts and scholarships -PSLF Eligible Employer -Employee discount program -Pet insurance (yes, really) -Same Day Pay (UKG Wallet) -Career growth opportunities About Saint Therese Saint Therese is a faith-based, nonprofit senior living organization with more than 60 years of experience providing compassionate, person-centered care.
