Intern - Strategy



Job Summary:



The strategy intern will be responsible for assisting ArchWell Health's strategy team with various initiatives regarding membership, disenrollment, and analytics. The intern will be responsible for conducting analyses to expand AWH's understanding of key drivers of our financial performance and for developing strategies for AWH to increase growth, decrease disenrollment and improve financial performance. The intern will work closely with members of AWH's strategy team to complete this work.



This experience is designed to help the intern develop their analytic skills and to help them learn how to translate analysis into business value. Additionally, this experience will be a great introduction to value-based care and the various factors that determine success for risk-bearing providers.



Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Stratifying AWH markets' growth performance on a wide range of variables, analyzing results to come up with explanations for variation in performance, and developing a strategy for improving AWH's overall growth
  • Analyzing historical disenrollment data to create disenrollment risk profiles per disenrollment reason for members based upon various attributes (health plan, payor, member source, engagement, etc.) and developing a strategy for member retention
  • Development of operational metrics which are predictive of member-level financial performance



Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Usage of business knowledge and strategic thinking to translate research into business insights
  • Identification and evaluation of data sources which may be of use for solving business problems
  • Strong Excel (or other data analytics platform) skills
  • Basic statistical analysis skills
  • Possesses basic knowledge regarding how the U.S. healthcare industry functions



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing a master's degree at an accredited college or university
  • Has healthcare experience either through course work or internship experiences
  • Proficient in data analysis and Microsoft Excel
  • Has experience analyzing data and using it to make recommendations to business stakeholders
