Description Maine Medical Center Nursing This is a Clinical Nurse II vacancy open to candidates with greater than 1 year of RN work experience This is a bargaining unit position 2 positions available Date posted: 6/9/2026 FT/Nights Unit Bio:P6 (Pavilion 6) is the 21 bed Inpatient Medical Psychiatry unit at Maine Medical Center. Over the years it has evolved from a traditional psychiatric unit to one that serves an increasingly medically complex population with a particular emphasis on Geriatric Psychiatry. All patients on P6 have both a major psychiatric illness, as well as a medical comorbidity that requires an inpatient level of care. We are excited to grow our interdisciplinary team and welcome all applicants from those new to Psychiatry, to those who have many years of experience. Summary: Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1. Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year. 2. License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine. Certification in relevant specialty preferred. 3. Experience: At least 1 year prior RN work experience. Meets all requirements of Clinical Nurse I. Completion of Level I usually achieved by 12 months of employment. Inpatient psychiatry experience preferred. Inpatient geriatric or medical psychiatry experience strongly preferred. 4. Basic knowledge of the research base, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing. 5. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. 6. Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in patients' conditions and to initiate appropriate action. 7. Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families and to initiate appropriate action. 8. Demonstrates a caring nursing practice and promotes a healing environment for patients and families. 9. Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.
