Position Summary:

Lead, own, and direct all production and plant activities for the Memphis site to deliver the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), meet customer requirements, and maintain a safe, compliant, and continuously improving operation. The Plant Manager is responsible for general management across production, quality, shipping/receiving, procurement, finance, EH&S, and regulatory compliance while building a highperforming team and driving measurable operational improvements.

Key responsibilities:




  • Functions as the primary manufacturing and customer liaison for Bryce Memphis TN location.
  • Plans, organizes and owns production planning for on-time deliveries. Ensures communication and coordination between site and NACS is consistent, accurate and timely.
  • Manages annual operating expense of 700K (dollars) and ensures that expense controls are in place to meet AOP.
  • Oversees annual production volume 175k pounds.
  • Oversees product distribution (annual) volume 3.40 million pounds.
  • Conducts annual performance and compensation reviews for all hourly employees; develops, maintains, and communicates performance and productivity standards.
  • Conducts annual performance and compensation review.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, monitors, controls and facilitates hourly employee related issues including staffing, recruitment, training, personnel actions, attendance, disciplinary actions, and safety and employee relations.
  • Investigates quality issues and customer complaints from a manufacturing perspective and initiates changes were found necessary
  • Utilizing SAP - distributes daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Manages local site MSP program to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with customers when required.
  • Manage accident notification, reporting and investigation. Provide required notification and documentation to the EHS department as defined EHS.
  • Monitors quality standards and maintain production and QC data to ensure consistent performance.
  • Ensures new employees receive orientation and training as required to perform the function they were employed to perform.
  • Maintains a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment and the facility. Working with the National Manufacturing Manager defines a contingency plan for production interruption situations.
  • Completes and maintains all regulatory data and documentation in an organized and retrievable form for unannounced DEP, OSHA, and EPA visits. Documents safety communications and training requirements, e.g., Hazardous Communications, Right-To-Know, etc. covered in OSHA's C.F.R.29 and required by Sun Chemical's Regulatory Department.
  • Monitoring SAP data to Control inventory levels consistent with budget goals of the operation.
  • Acts as MRP controller and facilitates inventory management.
  • Monitoring SAP data - exercises budget controls over the costs related to. production, labor, distribution, and all other operational areas affecting the facility.
  • Establish, monitor, and control a work off program.
  • Assists in the preparation of the plant operating budget and make recommendations for capital needs.
  • Monitor waste generation and disposal - solid and liquid - ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines. Maintain manifests.
  • Ensures and documents plant-wide adherence to Safety and Good Housekeeping practices.
  • Oversee site 5S program and ensure that site meets required standards.
  • Coordinates plant inspections for outside agencies, EPA, Fire Officials, etc.
  • Coordinate and document Monthly safety meetings - provide EHS with minutes
  • Establish operating procedures (Job hazard analysis) and training for all equipment.
  • Conduct monthly plant inspections - provide documented review using EHS inspection forms.



Organizational Relationships:




  • Works closely with the site employees, sales representatives, corporate staff departments, customers (as required) and outside vendors.



Requirements/Qualifications:




  • 3-5 years of manufacturing and supervisory experience required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • BA/BS Degree preferred.
