JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The College of Medicine Department of Molecular and Precision Medicine is seeking applicants for a Research Technician for a 3-month assignment working 40 hours a week to help test and validate a new device for rapid identification of a novel bacterial pathogen.

The position involves wet bench molecular microbiological techniques, particularly quantitative PCR, enzyme-linked immune sorbent assays (ELISA) and other immunological assays, to determine the specificity and selectivity of a novel lateral flow device. This is position is needed to fulfill the goals of a recently awarded NIH grant and is critical as an antecedent for deploying the device in field settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
The applicant should have a Bachelors of Science degree and at least two years' experience in wet bench molecular genetic techniques with particular preference for experience with ELISA and other immunological techniques.

Compensation:

The starting rate for this job is $19.00 an hour.
