Job Description
Position Purpose

Performs multi-modal domestic and international shipping arrangement, invoice processing, data entry, and other traffic management related tasks in support of section operations. Handles communication and coordination of the customer service counter located at B35. Serves as backup to the Office Move Coordinator. Prepares and consolidates a variety of transportation statistical reports. Provides project support as required. This position also includes other transportation support work related to the Transportation Branch. The position requires a practical knowledge of the regulations and methods governing traffic management and transportation programs, processes, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities* Communicates with Transportation, Shipping and Receiving personnel and internal/external Goddard Customers regarding routine Line and Bulk shipments status and schedules customer pickup.
* Routes in person customers/virtual customers to proper functional area or takes and relays messages to appropriate personnel as required.
* Maintains Building 35 facility entry log.
* Maintains a daily report of scheduled, completed and on-hand Line and Bulk shipments, to ensure shipments processed by Receiving Office are picked up or delivered within specified time frames.
* Monitors Controlled/Non-controlled Excess Materials pickup/delivery status daily, communicates status to ensure on-time completion. (MOSI and 01-29).
* Compiles transportation statistical data and prepares written reports, correspondence, and memoranda accurately and in a timely manner.
* Maintains Transportation Branch File Plan in accordance with directives.
* Assists Traffic Management Office and center customers with completion of transportation documentation for domestic, international, and hazardous material shipments in a format that meets carrier, agency and center directives and procedures.
* Maintains and reviews vendor/sub-contractor invoice logs daily, monitors status and assists with processing payments.
* Requisitions equipment, office supplies, and transportation regulations utilized by the section.

Office Move Coordinator Backup
(To be performed during primary Move Coordinator's absence as needed.)

* Coordinates, documents, and monitors office moves. Provides face-to-face coordination with the customer to help ensure that all move requirements are adequately identified.
* Monitors move requests and communicates with customers through MOSI. Manages these requests and coordinates with the office move contractor to ensure move is performed to the customer requirements.
* In conjunction with the Move Contractor, the Move Coordinator will provide budgetary estimates/cost analysis to customers.
* Provides all appropriate move information to the Move Contractor, who is primarily responsible to perform walk-throughs with the customer to determine manpower, equipment, and time completion estimates. The Move Contractor can request the Move Coordinators participation in walk-through as required.
* Interfaces with the customer and the Move Contractor on the projected move date to resolve all questions or problems.
* Provides guidance and assistance to the customer for damage claims, from initiation to resolution.

* Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution.
* Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word) are required.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.

* The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment.
* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time.

* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
* Must be able to successfully complete a background screening.
* Must possess or be able to obtain a public trust clearance prior to employment and maintain public trust clearance for the duration of employment.

Rate of Pay/Benefits

Salary Range: $65,000 to $77,000
