Position Announcement

Facilitates full-time employee onboarding, benefits processing, and payroll documentation on a semi-monthly basis. Manages FMLA requests, ADA reasonable accommodation processes, alternative and flexible work arrangements, and tuition waivers in compliance with University policy. Serves as primary backup to supervisor and supports HR team operations as needed. Responsibilities

Full-Time Employee Onboarding

  • Facilitate onboarding and payroll documentation processing for new full-time hires, from the time a new hire signs an offer letter through completion of initial onboarding tasks connected to their first pay period, including benefits enrollment and associated new-hire employee tasks.
Benefits and Pay Processing
  • Input HR payroll and employee information into HRIS to maintain accurate records and tracking. Maintain records of payroll-related changes each pay period, including new employee onboarding, changes to existing employee benefits, and open enrollment. Coordinate regulatory notice requirements related to benefit eligibility milestones, including Medicare notices and dependent eligibility age changes. Review tuition waiver requests in accordance with established guidelines. Ensure timely distribution of payroll information to applicable parties by associated deadlines.
Medical Leave and Accessibility
  • Track and manage FMLA requests for all faculty and staff, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. In collaboration with the CHRO/ADA Officer, coordinate and process ADA reasonable accommodation requests and the interactive process in compliance with University policy.
Flexible Schedules and Alternative Work Arrangements
  • Track and manage alternative and flexible work arrangements for full-time faculty, staff, and part-time staff in compliance with University policy.
HR Policy Support
  • Assist the CHRO with HR policy revisions, policy language research, and review to ensure HR policies are current with University guidelines and best practices.
Other Duties
  • Support the HR team during peak workload periods and provide backup as needed. Assist in reviewing HR processes and systems to promote efficient workflows and identify opportunities for improvement. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. A combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of HR, benefits administration, or employee onboarding experience. The total qualifications required are based on a combination of education and work experience. Any experience used to meet the education requirement cannot also be used to meet the work experience requirement.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience processing employee benefits, payroll changes, and onboarding documentation is required.
  • Experience tracking and administering leave programs, including FMLA and reasonable accommodation processes, preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems; Banner or similar system experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage cyclical deadlines and multiple priorities accurately.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively and maintain confidentiality with faculty, staff, and administrators at all levels.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply HR policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-eligible staff position. Annual salary of $47,246, with a desired start date of July/August 2026.
