What You'll do: We are seeking two AWS Cloud Developers to support development of an AWS CDK infrastructure codebase. The platform supports document processing, search, analytics, AI, and application integration workflows. The developers will work with senior engineers and product stakeholders in an Agile development process to build, maintain, test, and deploy infrastructure-as-code and serverless application components. This role requires a team-oriented developer who can adapt quickly as product priorities, new features, and requirements change. Must be familiar with the technical environment:
Language/runtime: TypeScript, Node.js, JavaScript modules, and Python Infrastructure: AWS CDK Core AWS services: Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS/PostgreSQL, API Gateway, Step Functions, OpenSearch Serverless, AppConfig, CloudWatch, EventBridge, Secrets Manager, Glue, Athena, Bedrock. Tooling: npm, AWS CLI, CDK CLI, Docker, Git.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain AWS CDK stacks in TypeScript. Add and update Lambda-backed services for document storage, indexing, summarization, conversion, analytics, and AgentCore workflows. Implement least-privilege IAM roles and policies for new and existing services. Support AWS resources including S3, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS/PostgreSQL, OpenSearch Serverless, Lambda, Step Functions, AppConfig, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and Bedrock. Troubleshoot deployment, permissions, networking, and runtime issues across environments. Write and update operational documentation, runbooks, and developer notes. Review CloudWatch logs and metrics to diagnose Lambda, queue, and workflow behavior. Collaborate with senior engineers on code reviews, testing, refactoring, and production readiness. Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives. Work closely with product and engineering teammates to clarify requirements, estimate work, and deliver incremental product improvements. Respond constructively to rapid new requirements and changes in scope while keeping implementation quality and maintainability in focus.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1+ years of hands-on AWS cloud development or infrastructure experience. Working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript. Experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, or another infrastructure-as-code tool. Familiarity with serverless AWS services, especially Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and CloudWatch. Basic understanding of IAM roles, policies, principals, and least-privilege access. Comfortable using Git, command-line tools, npm, and AWS CLI. Ability to read existing code, follow established patterns, and ask clear technical questions. Strong written communication for documentation, pull requests, and issue updates. Comfortable working in an Agile team environment with evolving product requirements. Collaborative team worker who communicates blockers early and contributes to shared delivery goals. Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance (US Citizenship required). This is a hybrid role requiring 1-2 days onsite / week
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS CDK in TypeScript. Experience with OpenSearch or OpenSearch Serverless. Experience with Step Functions, EventBridge Scheduler, AppConfig, or Glue/Athena. Experience with RDS/PostgreSQL and Secrets Manager. Exposure to Bedrock and AgentCore Experience debugging Lambda functions. Familiarity with Docker-based Lambda/container builds. Understanding of AWS networking basics: VPCs, subnets, security groups, endpoints, and routing. Experience contributing to product development teams with fast-moving priorities.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $88,177.00 - $171,637.00
