Job Description
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse FLSA STATUS: Hourly PURPOSE: Coordinates the daily activities for the Agriculture (AG) Warehouse Department. Communicates the daily workload requirements and prioritizes the workforce to meet customer demand in the most cost-effective manner. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and promote all safety initiatives and follows all company safety policies.
- To assure that the company's quality vision policy is adhered to by all personnel within the department.
- Responsible for daily scheduling of Warehouse and Shipping personnel according to workload demand; must be willing to work overtime and weekends when volume dictates.
- Perform standard functions in Transportation Management Center (TMC).
- Responsible for scheduling Inventory Control cycle counts to maintain accurate finished goods inventories.
- Motivate and develop personnel to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.
- Plan and schedule customer orders to meet goals and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Print orders, create bills of lading (BOL), process JDE documentation; sets appointments for inbound shipment and transfers; stage product and be proactive with picking customer's orders.
- Communicate with trucking companies, Customer Care, and inter-plant coordinators to maintain proper product flow.
- Ability to speak effectively with co-workers, internal/external customers, and truck drivers.
- TICS complaint and resolution shipping contact for the Monroe facility.
- Collaborate with freight companies to resolve issues (i.e., tracking, POD, etc.)
- Facilitate staffing for open positions and fill-ins for vacation periods.
- Communicate frequently with other shipping coordinators and warehouse management.
- Participate on TEAMS for quality improvement, cost savings, productivity, and safety.
- Other duties as assigned; including performing job duties from current position to entry level position.
- Follow First In-First Out (FIFO) operating procedures to ensure product does not expire.
- Perform other related functions and duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be proficient in all areas of Warehousing/Shipping/Receiving/Inventory Control functions.
- Knowledge of and skill in operating various office equipment to include fax, copiers, printers and PC functions.
- The ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment; work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- 4 - 5 years experience in warehousing or logistics field; supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Very knowledgeable in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS), JDE, dc-link, and the internet.
- Ability to perform functional mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
- Ability to adhere to Amcor's Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop, climb, and reach multiple times per day.
- Ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates inside a warehouse.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, and gloves.
- Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack; maintain a forklift operator license.
- Primarily a day shift position; ability to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends, evenings, and overtime as needed.
