General Description

The Events & Sponsorships Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of EDPR NA events, sponsorships, and other company activations to drive engagement with stakeholders-including customers, utilities, industry partners, community, government, trade associations, and employees. The Events & Sponsorships Manager collaborates cross-functionally, and ensures events and partnerships reflect the company's brand, values, and strategic objectives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Planning & Execution


Plan, coordinate, and execute EDPR NA-owned and sponsored events, including industry conferences, summits, roundtables, panels, networking receptions, and project milestones (groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings), and supports internal meetings.
Manage end-to-end event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, catering, audiovisual production, signage, branded materials, and travel arrangements.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and post-event summaries to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Partner cross-functionally with development, government affairs, communications, brand, commercial, operations, and executive teams to align event objectives, messaging, and stakeholder engagement goals for events.
Travel as needed to support event execution, oversee on-site logistics, and represent EDPR NA in the field.


Sponsorship & Industry Engagement Management


Evaluate, negotiate, and manage sponsorship opportunities across key markets, including renewable energy conferences, trade associations, economic development organizations, and community initiatives.
Ensure all sponsorships align with EDPR NA's brand standards, development priorities, stakeholder engagement goals, and compliance standards.
Oversee sponsorship deliverables and activation plans to maximize visibility, relationship-building, and return on investment.
Manage corporate memberships and subscriptions, including tracking renewals, evaluating value and utilization, and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, stakeholder engagement goals, and budget considerations.


Budgeting & Operational Oversight


Track event and sponsorship budgets, manage vendor payments, and coordinate financial reconciliations in partnership with the finance team.
Maintain a comprehensive calendar of events and sponsorships aligned with development milestones, market priorities, and corporate communications strategy.


Brand Experience & Activation


Collaborate with communications and brand leads to develop high-quality event materials, signage, digital assets, and branded collateral.
Manage branded materials and promotional inventory, including design coordination, production timelines, and distribution logistics.
Propose innovative engagement concepts that enhance stakeholder experience, strengthen community relationships, and reinforce EDPR NA's leadership in renewable energy.


Measurement & Reporting


Lead post-event evaluations by tracking key performance indicators such as attendance, stakeholder engagement, meetings held, media coverage, and community impact.
Develop insights and recommendations to optimize future events and sponsorship strategies based on data and feedback.

Fulltime/Hybrid Schedule (3 days in office/ 2 remote)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of experience in event management, sponsorship coordination, or marketing project management, preferably within renewable energy, infrastructure, corporate, or agency environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing events end-to-end, from contract negotiation and vendor selection through on-site execution and post-event reporting.
  • Proven negotiation and vendor management capabilities, ensuring cost efficiency and high-quality execution.

BEHAVIORAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and budget management skills, with the ability to prioritize across multiple markets and timelines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Professional fluency in English required; Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to understand and address needs of executives seamlessly.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form;
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary.
