Job Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for supporting quality assurance and compliance activities related to the manufacturing, processing, packaging, and storage of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), drug products, and medical devices in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and applicable regulatory standards. This role performs inspections, quality assessments, laboratory support activities, and documentation reviews to ensure products meet established quality, safety, and efficacy standards. The ideal candidate has experience in regulated manufacturing or laboratory environments, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across production, quality, and laboratory teams.

Job Responsibilities



  • Perform line clearances, area clearances, and in-process inspections of manufacturing operations
  • Inspect and disposition incoming materials and components in accordance with quality procedures
  • Monitor manufacturing and warehouse operations for compliance with cGMP and quality standards
  • Verify and approve labeling activities and material quality status identification
  • Support production scheduling activities and coordinate quality-related tasks as needed
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality procedures and standards
  • Participate in investigations related to nonconformances, deviations, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Support quality audits and compliance initiatives
  • Perform chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, stability samples, and validation materials when assigned to laboratory operations
  • Perform calibration and preventative maintenance activities on analytical and inspection equipment
  • Review laboratory or inspection documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain laboratory and inspection areas in accordance with housekeeping and safety standards
  • Create and manage HOLD alerts, work orders, and related quality documentation
  • Perform special projects and additional quality-related duties as assigned


Job Requirements



  • Associate's Degree in a technical or scientific field required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a science-related discipline preferred
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • Understanding of cGMP, OSHA, EPA, and FDA regulations and compliance standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with inspection or laboratory equipment preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to enforce quality procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements effectively
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory analyzers, inspection equipment, and chemical analysis processes preferred
  • Quality certifications such as ASQ CQE or CQA preferred


Education



  • Associate's Degree in a technical or scientific discipline required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field preferred


Work Experience



  • Experience in pharmaceutical, API, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience supporting quality inspections, laboratory testing, or manufacturing compliance activities preferred
  • Experience working within cGMP-regulated operations preferred
