Title: UX Researcher (Contract)

Duration: 12-month contract

Location: Hybrid (Cupertino, CA)

Pay Rate: $48.51/hour

The Retail Engagement, Marketing & Merchandising (REMM) team develops programs, campaigns, and experiences that help customers discover, learn about, and engage more deeply with products and services.

The Customer Insights team is seeking a UX Researcher to support qualitative research initiatives and usability testing. This role will help bring the customer voice to life through actionable insights that inform and evolve retail experiences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Research: Support the design and execution of qualitative studies, including usability testing, user interviews, and contextual inquiries
  • Analyze Feedback: Evaluate user behavior and qualitative data to identify needs, pain points, and opportunities
  • Synthesize Insights: Partner with team members to identify trends, patterns, and user journeys across multiple inputs
  • Storytelling: Translate research findings into clear, compelling narratives that drive decision-making
  • Tailor Communications: Develop research outputs suited for a range of stakeholders and audiences
  • Present Findings: Assist in preparing and delivering insights through presentations, reports, and stakeholder meetings

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in UX research, qualitative research, HCI, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of qualitative research methods (usability testing, interviews, observational research)
  • Ability to translate complex user behavior into actionable insights
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting findings

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience conducting qualitative research (e.g., interviews, focus groups, usability sessions)
  • Familiarity with synthesizing research into insights and recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with usability tools (e.g., UserTesting, UserZoom, Figma, or similar)
  • Experience supporting global research programs across multiple regions
  • Background in retail, technology, or customer experience research
