What You'll Do
- Accountable for the process design and key equipment, ensuring that the process and equipment can safely and reliably demonstrate rate, quality, and stability
- Perform technoeconomic trade-offs and present business case justifications for process design, technology, and equipment selection to optimize recovery, emissions, operability, cost, and schedule
- Define process design criteria, review and approve calculations and designs, size and specify equipment
- Lead for vendor selection and management, including generating RFP packages, conducting vendor evaluations and bid leveling, and managing project deliverables
- Interface with technology and equipment suppliers, detailed engineering team, and construction team to innovate and optimize processes, and ensure each party receives necessary deliverables and information for progressing work
- Ensure timely and quality completion of project deliverables, including review and approval for all process documents (P&IDs, Mass & Energy Balance, Equipment Sizing Calculations, etc.) and the stewardship of discipline engineering reviews
- Coordinate with production engineers to drive operational readiness, including development of commissioning and ramp plans, KPIs, SOPs, Operating Envelopes, etc.
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in process design or production engineering
- Hands-on experience at a large-scale chemical operating plant, refinery, or manufacturing site
- Experience with chemical reactor and/or multi-phase separation (distillation, filtration cyclones, etc.) unit operations or design
- Proven experience conducting technoeconomic evaluations and utilizing project management tools
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, solve, and clearly communicate complex technical problems, including proficiency with data visualization tools
- Preferred: Experience with fluid bed reactors, chemical vapor deposition, multi-stage distillation, absorption, absorption, electrolysis, cryogenic or cold temperature unit operations
- Comfortable traveling up to 50% of the time, including international travel
