Hourly Pay Range:

$20.69 - $30.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Psychometrician

  • Location: Evanston, IL

  • Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem

  • Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM

  • Required Travel: no

What you will do:

Under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist, the psychometrician is responsible for administering and interpreting various neuropsychological tests to adult and geriatric patients. Tests selected must be consistent with or based on the age and the developmental status of the patient. The psychometrician works with other professionals within and outside of the health system to maximize clinical outcomes for the patient.

  • Knowledge and application of the health system policies and procedures that apply to job and area of responsibility.

  • Administration of neuropsychological and psychological tests under direct supervision of neuropsychologist, behavioral neurologist, or geriatrician.

  • Scoring of tests immediately for same day feedback to patient.

  • Assistance to the Neuropsychologist, behavioral neurologist, or geriatrician in documenting results and writing reports' data and results section, as needed.

  • Assisting patients and family members in completion of forms.

  • Assistance to the Neuropsychologist in patient visit documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Coordinate scheduling with other members of care team.

  • Communicates effectively with patients, members of the multidisciplinary team and other health care workers.

  • Reports changes in patient condition to the referring provider.

  • Participates in the treatment planning process through appropriate communication and documentation in the medical record.

  • Maintain test materials for the Neuropsychologist and the Behavioral Neurologist.

  • Update of normative data for neuropsychological and psychological tests.

  • Coordinate office functions as dictated by the Neuropsychologist and Practice Manager.

  • Assist with research studies, as assigned by the Neuropsychologist.

  • Is open to feedback, seeks consultation with others and demonstrates ability to grow in knowledge of patient dynamics and one's own response to patient interactions.

  • Gives feedback to others and offers ideas for improvement in program modalities.

  • Maintains appropriate boundaries within the context of a professional relationship.

What you will need:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Sociology

Unique or Preferred Skills:

  • Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with patients, families, physicians, other health care professionals and the community.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Must possess a positive attitude toward impaired patients.
