A Taste of What You'll Do

Are you passionate about wine and interested in learning more about the winemaking process? The Livingston Pilot Winery is seeking a seasonal assistant to support our mission of driving innovation in the wine industry by pushing the boundaries of winemaking techniques and technologies. As a member of our team, you'll work closely the Pilot Winery staff and have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of winemaking. You will be involved with all tasks involved in the production of research wines.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Fermenting and pressing grapes
  • Operating machinery and equipment
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment
  • Sampling juice, fermenters, and wine tanks, and making ingredient additions at the direction of the Winemaker

This is a seasonal position, with employment running approximately June-November. The hours and schedule will vary depending on the workload, but tends to fall around 50-60 hours per week during the peak, including weekends when necessary. A willingness to work in an outdoor environment, at elevated heights and to comply with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations is essential.

What You'll Need

  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to work overtime if necessary.
  • Required to work a rotating shift or any scheduled (day, swing or graveyard).
  • Required to work 8 - 12 hours per day.
  • Required to climb ladders; climb to extreme heights.
  • Required to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to understand, read and write the English language.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to comply with company GMP Policies.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
