Position Summary: The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and assisting all visitors, answering the switchboard, documenting incoming deliveries, processing incoming and outgoing mail and providing clerical support as requested. In addition, the Receptionist assists with various clerical duties and projects as assigned, and may assist with completing appropriate paperwork for new admissions during after-hours shifts if assigned. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Follow the facility guest relations program when greeting and assisting all visitors, ensuring all visitors sign the visitorlog and obtain a visitor pass.
- Answer anddisseminateall incoming calls on the switchboard in a professional and courteous manner within three rings.
- Utilize the paging system to announce callers asrequired.
- If assigned, provide clerical support to admissions:Collateadmission folder asrequired and Keypunchrevised patient data asrequired.
- Ensure an adequate supply of pre-stuffed admission folders and distribute properly.
- If assigned,provideassistancetopatients and employees, such as makingchange orproviding meal tickets
- Complete a variety of clerical projects as assigned.
- Distribute and accept applications for employment.
- Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.
- Attend all mandatory facilityinservicesand staff development activities as scheduled.
- Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress,attendanceand punctuality.
- Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
- Ability to sit forlong periods, up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds to move transfer file boxes,paperand newly admitted patients' belongings, asrequired.
- Ability to use both hands in fine manipulation of small tools (copier, computer, telephone, calculator, fax machine).
- Ability to push and pull up to 10lbs. (file cabinet drawers, computer paper boxes).
- Ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten material.
- Ability to retrieve files from bottom shelves and drawers.
- Ability to spend 90% working time in an environment of continuous low voices and office machine noise typical for business office atmosphere.
- Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks in an organized manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
