Position Summary: The Unit Coordinator serves as the administrative support for the unit performing clerical duties and tasks to allow direct care staff the ability to remain engaged in patient care activities. Duties include, but are not limited to answering telephone and directing calls and/or taking messages as appropriate, starting the patient medical record upon admission, assisting with the admission of newly admitted patients by conducting thorough inventory and documentation of patient belongings, assisting with the discharge process by reviewing belongings with patient at time of discharge, copying of group materials, performing filing within patient record, and maintaining adequate supplies and forms on the unit.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education: Associate degree or High School diploma plus clinical experience required.

Experience: Previous experience working in healthcare in a direct patient care or clerical role.

Licensure/Certification: AR Driver's License, CPR Certification, and CPI Certification (or ability to attain within 30-days of hire)

Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work well independently and complete tasks in a thorough and timely manner. Team work and good verbal and written communication skills necessary. Ability to multitask and follow-through with tasks for multiple 'customers' simultaneously.
