Job Title: Social Work Assistant Job Category: Social / Human Services Workplace Type: On-site Location: Bronx, NY 10475 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (35 hours/week) Employment Type: Temporary Experience Level: Entry Level About the Organisation Position Overview We are seeking an entry-level Social Work Assistant (BA-level) to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates interested in social work and community services who have experience supporting seniors and are looking to grow their careers in a collaborative, supportive environment. No social work license is required for this position. The Social Work Assistant will provide direct support to older adults, assist with service coordination and benefits/entitlement assistance, and maintain accurate documentation. Key Responsibilities * Provide social work support to seniors enrolled in the NORC program * Conduct client assessments and assist with service coordination * Support clients with benefits and entitlement assistance * Maintain accurate, timely documentation in English * Collaborate closely with a supportive, team-oriented staff to ensure quality client care Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related social services field (required) * No social work licence required (no clinical supervision provided) * 2+ years of experience working in a mental health or social services setting, ideally supporting seniors * Strong documentation and organisational skills * Compassionate, client-focused approach Preferred Qualifications * Experience working with elderly populations * Familiarity with community-based or NORC-style programs * Russian language skills preferred (not required), due to client population Skills & Competencies * Social work fundamentals * Service coordination * Mental health support * Strong attention to detail * Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Employee Value Proposition Join a warm, collaborative NORC program team where your work truly makes a difference.
