Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Manager, Scientific Sales. Accountable for selling to high value flow cytometry accounts. Reports to National Sales Director - Flow Cytometry and works in tandem with all Field Sales personnel to include Flow Cytometry Account Managers, Health System Account Managers and Sales Directors, Marketing personnel, Field Service, etc. Key focus will be to achieve "speed to Go-Live" with all influential flow cytometry placements. Main area of responsibility will be within the most influential hospital systems in the nation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Accountable for acting independently and for supporting Team members in order to achieve sales objectives within assigned IDNs/IHNs; as outlined by the Director of Corporate Accounts.
  1. Accountable for achievement of their sales objectives within assigned IDNs/IHNs annually. Assigned geography and accounts will be comprised of the largest, most complex hospital systems in the nation.
  2. Possesses and demonstrates a consistently high level of technical and sales sophistication, professionalism, maturity, tact and diplomacy with both customers and Sysmex associates.
  3. Support study evaluations that generate scientific and clinical evidence for Sysmex products.
  4. Provide logistical support for study evaluations (instrument placements, reagent supply, enlisting service support etc.) and assist with data review from evaluation sites.
  5. Possess and consistently demonstrate a strong interpersonal, persuasive, problem solving and project management skills.
  6. Demonstrates urgency, "can-do" attitude, strong desire to set and achieve goals, and successful teamwork.
  7. Attend recommended external scientific meetings to stay up-to-date with latest technologies and report relevant findings to internal stakeholders.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Percentage of Travel: 75%

Physical Demands: Light physical effort. Routine handling of objects up to 20 pounds; prolonged (at least 50% of time) sitting, standing, keyboard or CRT work. May require periods of moderate discomfort due to noise, dust, lighting and/or other conditions.

Individual Education & Training Required for Position: Training required for this position is defined and governed in accordance to COP-0013 Associate Training and will be assigned in the LMS.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and PhD in Immunology preferred. 5-10 years of industry experience. Must have 5+ years of successful sales experience within high value flow cytometry accounts.
  • The individual must have excellent technical knowledge of capital sales, flow cytometry and laboratory workflow.
  • Demonstrate good teamwork, project management, business acumen, organizational impact and a strong competitive instinct.
  • Have successful sales record in large, complex, difficult accounts.
  • Microsoft Office Competency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation skills, persuasive ability, competitiveness, oral and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze sales opportunities, qualify and rank potential for success.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, sales opportunities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of FCS Express, Colusa or other flow cytometry analysis software.
