Job description
CAD Designer / Drafter (Junior-Mid Level)

Employment Type: ContracttoHire
Work Model: Onsite (4-5 days per week)


Position Overview

We are seeking a CAD Designer / Drafter to support the design and development of lowvoltage and electrical system layouts. This role is ideal for an earlycareer to midlevel professional who is organized, detailoriented, and eager to grow their technical skillset.

The position will work closely with engineering and project teams to produce accurate drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, with additional emphasis on Revit. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, following standards, and iterating quickly based on feedback.


Key Responsibilities
CAD Design & Drafting

  • Create, update, and maintain technical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Develop detailed drafting documents for lowvoltage systems, including:

    • Access control systems
    • Electrical layouts
    • Wiring and cabling diagrams


  • Revise drawings based on engineering and project team input
  • Ensure drawings meet internal drafting standards and project requirements


Documentation & Coordination

  • Maintain organized design files and drawing documentation
  • Participate in project meetings and follow up on assigned action items
  • Coordinate with engineers and project staff to clarify requirements and changes
  • Support accurate version control and drawing updates throughout the project lifecycle


Required Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of CAD drafting or design experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Strong attention to detail and drafting accuracy
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational, followup, and timemanagement skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Revit
  • Exposure to lowvoltage systems, electrical layouts, or wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity with access control, security systems, or related technologies
  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, or relevant CAD training
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teams
