Summary: Goldbelt Professional Services, LLC is seeking a Health Communications Specialist role provides highquality communication, documentation, meeting, and contentmanagement support to our contract client. This position ensures consistent, accurate, plainlanguage communication products and helps coordinate internal and external information sharing for agency staff and preparedness partners.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop highquality communication materials, including presentations, data files, agendas, memos, email content, fact sheets, templates, and web/intranet content, following CDC/HHS policies and plainlanguage standards.
- Write, edit, proofread, and prepare documents; submit drafts for review and ensure final products are Section 508-compliant.
- Use Microsoft Office Suite and other CDCapproved tools to produce and store all documents in designated CDC locations.
- Track document development requests and updates through the established task tracker.
- Support internal and external information sharing by creating clear, timely content for DSLR staff and preparedness partners.
- Provide meeting coordination, including developing agendas, presentation materials, minutes, and action item summaries; support DSLR All Hands and division events.
- Manage DSLR newsletters and internal email notifications; write articles, coordinate clearance, and update newsletter templates and schedules.
- Maintain DSLR SharePoint and intranet content by posting updates, gathering information, and ensuring timely publication.
- Manage the communications clearance inbox and tracker; support development of clearance processes, workflows, and project documentation.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and status updates for communication activities and maintain accurate documentation archives.
- Participate in developing communication and policy products such as fact sheets, SOPs, templates, and leadership updates while ensuring all content meets accessibility standards.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and plainlanguage communication skills.
- Ability to create clear, accurate documents, presentations, and communication products for internal and external audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong meeting coordination skills, including agendas, facilitation materials, minutes, and action tracking.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and document workflows.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, version control, and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, leadership, and communications offices.
- Knowledge of CDC clearance processes, communication workflows, and plainlanguage standards.
- Experience developing newsletters, communication campaigns, or staff email updates.
- Training or experience in Section 508 compliance, plainlanguage writing, or federal communication standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Health, English, Journalism, Public Administration, Health Policy, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in communications, writing/editing, project coordination, or public health program support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Public Health (MPH), Communications, Public Administration, or related field.
- Experience supporting federal agencies, CDC divisions, public health programs, or emergency preparedness communications.
Pay and Benefits The annual salary range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000. At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
