Shape how AI agents behave when people collaborate in meetings

Microsoft Teams powers collaboration for hundreds of millions of people every day. As AI becomes a more active participant in meetings, the challenge is no longer just what AI can do, buthow it behaves in live, multiparty collaboration:when to help, how to adapt, and how to deliver value without getting in the way.

We're hiring aSenior Product Managerto work on theFacilitator agent for meetingsin Microsoft Teams. This role focuses on thecore capabilities of Facilitator in meetings, shaping how the agent behaves across real scenarios and how success is defined, evaluated, and improved over time.

You'll work closely with engineering, design, and applied science to turn emerging AI capabilities intoclear product decisions: defining scenarios, setting expectations for agent behavior, and grounding the work in real customer needs and usage. This is a handson product role for a PM who enjoys ambiguity, systems thinking, and building AI experiences that must work reliably in the real world.

Responsibilities
Own core Facilitator capabilities in meetings
  • Drive product direction forkey Facilitator agent behaviors during meetings, aligned with Teams and AI platform strategy.
  • Own a welldefined problem space endtoend: from customer needs and scenario definition through requirements, delivery, and iteration.
  • Make clear product calls aboutwhat the agent should do, when it should act, and where it should stay out of the way.
Define scenarios, behavior, and success
  • Identify and definecore meeting scenarios(e.g., managing tasks, agenda tracking, managing and engaging audience) and how Facilitator should behave in each.
  • Establishclear success definitions, examples, and guardrailsthat translate abstract AI capabilities into concrete, buildable behavior.
  • Help shape how the agent adapts tomeeting context, flow, and group dynamicsover time.
Partner deeply across disciplines
  • Work closely withengineering, design, and applied scienceto align on goals, tradeoffs, and execution plans.
  • Bring clarity to ambiguous spaces by breaking complex problems intoactionable product decisions.
  • Contribute to shared patterns and frameworks for building and evaluating agent experiences in Teams.
Execute with quality and pragmatism
  • Own theendtoend lifecycleof features: discovery, definition, experimentation, launch, and iteration.
  • Balance speed and quality while deliveringhighcraft, userfacing AI experiencesin live collaboration settings.
  • Use customer feedback and realworld usage to continuously refine product direction.
Measure and learn
  • Definemetrics and qualitative signalsto assess Facilitator effectiveness, consistency, and usefulness in meetings.
  • Partner with data and applied science to improvehow agent behavior is evaluated, not just what is shipped.
  • Learn from successes and failures in production to inform future scenarios and improvements.
Communicate clearly
  • Communicate product decisions, rationale, and progress clearly to partner teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to demos, narratives, and reviews that explain Facilitator capabilities and tradeoffs.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
  • 4+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 4+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • Demonstrated ability to define, ship, and iterate on userfacing products in complex or ambiguous environments.
  • Solid product judgment and execution skills, including prioritization, roadmap management, and delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Systems thinking: comfort reasoning about products that must work across many scenarios, users, and collaboration contexts.
  • Experience building or shippingAIpowered products, such as LLM features, agents, or intelligent systems.
  • Familiarity withhumanAI interaction patterns, agent behavior design, or evaluation practices.
  • Experience improving product outcomes through experimentation and iteration.
  • Passion for building collaboration experiences that work well for diverse teams and working styles.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
