SALARY:
1st year $65,346.96; 2nd year $74,661.63; 3rd year+ $88,368.48

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

No person shall be eligible for an original appointment unless he/she has attained the age of eighteen (18) years but not yet reached the age of forty-one (41) years by date of appointment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a United States citizen. Copy of valid driver's license and high school diploma or GED
equivalent MUST be uploaded to the NTN website www.nationaltestingnetwork.com (
applications are to be made online at
https://parma.cloud9.innoprise.com/citizenaccess).
To be eligible for the certified list, applicants must have attained a score of
70% or higher on the math exam, 70% or higher on the reading exam, 50% or higher on the
mechanical exam, 65% or higher on the video exam and passed the designated physical agility test.
Applicants must have an
Emergency Medical Technician
certificate EMT-P (Paramedic) and State of Ohio Firefighter Level 2
certification at the time of
appointment. Upon offer of hire an individual must have a physical
exam which shall include, but not be limited to, a
tobacco screening - candidates testing positive will be disqualified,
post-employment polygraph and psychological exam. Parma Civil Service will accept a certificate evidencing the passing of a physical agility test from Cuyahoga Community College
(Tri-C West) dated
April 17, 2025, through April 17, 2026
, with the
exception of the following: any
applicant who attains a passing grade on the math, reading,
mechanical and video portion of the exam and who has not
submitted a certificate evidencing the passing of a physical agility test from Tri-C West within this one-year period shall remain on the certified list so long as the
applicant passes the physical
agility test to be given by Tri-C West on
April 26, 2026 or May 31, 2026.
A certificate from any later dated test will not be accepted.

ADDITIONAL CREDIT:

Given to applicants obtaining a passing score of 70% or higher on the math exam, 70% or higher on the reading exam, 50% or higher on the mechanical exam and 65% or higher on the video exam.
Additional credit will be given for the following: Qualified Military Service: 20%, bachelor's degree: 20%, associate's degree: 10%,

Satisfactory proof is required prior to receiving extra credit.
