Provide required project, applications and equipment engineering support for a designated applications area, or multiple applications areas within AES. Work with the engineering project teams and provide technical expertise to the organization. Develop and implement engineering solutions for the organization, work on technical projects, and work on the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions. Understand the technical processes for specific industrial gas applications and diagnose and develop a value proposition utilizing Airgas solutions and equipment to these specific applications, primary applications are metal thermal treatment ("heat treat"), metallurgy, combustion, additive manufacturing, metal forming and powder metal. Provide proactive technical sales support and business development to Airgas's regional sales groups using individual's process knowledge, industry experience and applications background. Participate in new product/application identification and development, plan engineering strategies, determine department goals and create implementation plans and implement the process improvements. Give white papers, or write articles based upon a platform of expertise in the domain and rely on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish goals with a high degree of a mechanical mindset. Find lead through business development techniques and prepare and present technical and value-based proposals to Airgas prospects/customers. Be involved in all aspects of customer relationship from initial contact, customer/prospect problem identification, applications/equipment selection, data analysis, equipment/system development and proposal, equipment specification/manufacturing, on-site start-up and long term customer support and application marketing. Interface internally with regional account managers, bulk gas specialists, equipment engineers and marketing and interface externally with customers and equipment vendors. Develop and leverage a technical network inside and outside of Airgas, at the national and international level. Create training material and conduct training sessions for internal and external customers and may assist in the development, oversight and training of Equipment Engineers and Applications Engineers, mentor Junior Engineers as well as mentor National or International stakeholders globally project expertise in the domain and provide expert advice to other engineers. Patent development or other intellectual property for Airgas. ________________________ Are you a MATCH?Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Minimum Experience: 60 months of relevant experience with technical sales of gas applications solutions and equipment to the metal treatment and metal processing industry. Travel requirements: 50% domestic travel.
