Education, Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred,

Experience

Prior experience in a healthcare setting or enrollment in an accredited Nursing program,

Nursing Assistant experience preferred, but not required,

Maintains required Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certifications course completion status, successful completion of all orientation programs,

Potential exposure to blood, excrement and odors and infectious diseases

Special Physical Demands A physical condition that allows direct patient care contact which includes frequent standing, walking and lifting,

Verbal communication demands combined with the need to ensure accuracy in every situation, may create periods of stress,

Must be able to function under rapidly changing and stressful conditions,

Interrelationships Patients of all ages and their families, staff, visitors, professional and non professional personnel

Accurately performs the following tasks according to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital policies and procedures and reports results to a Registered Nurse immediately Vital signs Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Respiratory Rate, Temperature and Pulse Oximetry Intake and Output

Follows all Suicidal Precautions and Close Observation monitoring policies and procedures,

Suicide monitoring: Maintains safety of patient by remaining within an arm s distance at all times,

Close Observations: maintains safety of close observation patients per policy,

Observes and reports patient's conditions, behavior, and complaints to the nurse,

The following tasks are performed accurately and safely as assigned by a Registered Nurse: Placement of EKGs and cardiac monitoring leads, CPR,

Maintenance of oxygen equipment,

Post-mortem care,

Application of anti-embolism
