From your PASSION to ours

Lactalis U.S Yogurt, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring an Assistant Manager Production based in Londonderry, NH.

The Assistant Manager - Production will be responsible for the overall daily management and leadership of the Fill Pack Department. Key duties include managing the full employee life cycle-from interviewing, hiring, and training to performance appraisal, coaching, and resolving employee issues. The position involves direct supervision of Processing Supervisor(s) and requires actively planning, assigning, and directing departmental work. This position will oversee daily operations, implement policies, recommend improvements to manufacturing methods and equipment, and collaborate with other Industrial departments to ensure goals align with company values. This position will report to the Production Manager.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Optimize technical and financial performance by partnering with the Manager.
  • Direct process adjustments to maintain conformance with standards and customer requirements
  • Ensure strict compliance with all government-mandated standards (FDA, OSHA) and regulatory requirements (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices, FSSC22000).
  • Execute quality assurance programs to prevent defects in products.
  • Collaborate across departments to enforce quality policies, procedures, and proper equipment maintenance.
  • Complete and analyze Key Performance Indicator (KPI) files and reports covering production volume, yields, quality, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate inter-departmental activities by conferring with supervisors and other Managers.
  • Manage staff administrative functions, including time record approval and explaining work hour/productivity variances.
  • Contribute to the budget process and manage relationships with outside vendors.
  • Serve as a ready backup to the Manager, prepared to assume full departmental duties during their absence.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The incumbent is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Production supervisors in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience (5 years) is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Majors in business, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field are required

Experience

  • 2+ years of supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Previous employment in a food industry setting preferred.

Certifications and specific knowledge

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
  • Ability to operate in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt in a changing work environment.
  • Computer proficiency: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
