What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Engineering Technician to ensure the operational availability of advanced cell manufacturing equipment for Tesla Energy batteries. This role is pivotal in maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation, and robotics within a fast-paced, demanding environment. As a first responder to machine breakdowns, the technician will play a critical role in managing recoveries and supporting the production of cutting-edge battery technology in a world-class manufacturing facility in the Bay Area, CA.

What You'll Do
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems in cell manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with factory automation and robotics to minimize downtime
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and execute effective recovery processes
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including working in tight spaces, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to support equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and reliability
  • Document maintenance activities and report on equipment status to ensure operational continuity

What You'll Bring
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with factory automation and robotics troubleshooting
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for equipment maintenance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
