ChristianaCare Cardiology Consultants is looking for a Health Records Clerk III. This position will be located at 4000 Nexus Drive in Wilmington, Delaware.

The primary duty of this role involves the upkeep and preparation of electronic medical records, with a focus on ensuring their accuracy to support patient care.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm

Duties / Responsibilities:
As a Health Records Clerk III, you will beinvolved in comprehensive medical record management to support physician office visits and patient care. Key responsibilities include daily verification of physician schedules, preparing and ensuring chart availability three days in advance, and retrieving medical records from diverse sources to maintain complete electronic health records. This includes utilizing the EMR system for reviewing orders, scanning records, and accurately formatting them within patient charts. The position requires adherence to departmental policies for preparing medical records, verifying patient identification on scanned documents, and ensuring chart accuracy and completeness. It also entails retrieving information from external sources, maintaining updated logins for patient care websites (e.g., DHIN, Labcorp, Quest), and managing record requests from third parties in conjunction with a record processing vendor. Communication with patients and outside facilities is necessary for the timely completion of these requests. Quality control of scanned medical record information is performed according to guidelines, with appropriate maintenance of QA folders. The role also mandates safe work practices, adherence to departmental safety rules, and reporting of any unsafe activities or conditions. Additionally, the position requires timely answering of phones using professional language and proficient use of office machines like fax, scanners, and computers.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.

  • Experience in a medical office setting preferred.

  • One to two years of experience in data entry or document processing required.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
